Richard Hine is the President of The Hine Group, a developer of fine commercial, residential and mixed-use projects on the East coast. The Hine Group is a licensed Class A contractor in New York, Virginia and Florida. The company was founded in 1968 by Rich?s father, William Hine.
BACKGROUND
Rich graduated from the United States Naval Academy tenth in his class in 1982. From Annapolis, he graduated first in his class from both the United States Navy Submarine School and the United States Navy Nuclear Power School. He began his career in public service as an Intelligence Officer on the USS City of Corpus Christi, and was a Plankowner, Weapons Officer and Engineer on the USS Pittsburgh. After his tours in the United States Navy, Rich re-entered the construction arena as the President of the North Shore Lumber Mall. In 1990, he became the President of The Hine Group.
EDUCATION
Rich holds a masters of science degree in history from Yale University and a masters of arts degree in theology from the Seminary of Immaculate Conception. Rich also holds a bachelors of arts degree in political science from the United States Naval Academy.
PERSONAL
A native of Long Island, NY, Rich and his wife Mary reside in Virginia?s Shenandoah Valley. They have seven children.
